Austin Wedding Photographers: Forever Photography

Forever Photography Weddings

Forever Photography Studios

We’ve worked with, husband & wife run, Forever Photography on several occasions now. Like us, they are Austin-based and also work on destination weddings as well–ranging from  California to Italy, Mexico to Lake Tahoe. Their work is stunning. Jona and Jerry really know how to capture the special moments of  your ceremony and reception that I promise you will treasure forever.

Aside from being awesome people, they are good friends of ours.  Having your photographer and video team work well together is a huge advantage for you as the bride and groom because both the pictures and video will turn out much better!  We highly recommend you taking a look at their work and get on their schedule soon as they stay booked up!  Forever Photography Studios and Forever Photography Destinations have been operating since 2003 and have one of the most keen eyes for flattering angles and elegant compositions. They are definitely a solid choice for a photographer at any occasion or location!   http://foreverphotographystudio.com

[SPOTLIGHT] Texas Wedding Photographer Paige Ogilvie

Austin Texas Wedding Videographer The Wedding TheaterOne of the most important aspects of wedding videography, is the cohesion between a photographer and a cinematography team.  Knowing a photographer personally makes things just that much easier.  I met Paige in the second grade I believe, and have known her to be a wonderful person ever since.  Paige Ogilvie has been doing photography sinse high school, and I was extremely excited when I found out she was venturing into weddings!  We

had a chance to have a phone interview with the talented Dallas based photographer to ask a few key questions about her work and what to expect when hiring her to photograph your wedding day.  Of course this is a shortened version of the A.D.D. reunion that we had at the time of the call!

Jonathan : So Paige, I know you have had a camera in your hands for almost as long as I can remember, but when did you first pick up a camera, what kind was it?

Dallas Wedding PhotographerPaige : My parents gave me a 35mm Canon (film!) camera for my birthday when I turned 15.  I developed and printed most of my own pictures in the darkroom at my high school.  I actually shot my very first wedding with it when I was only 17.

Jonathan : I know you were always snapping pictures in High School, working for the yearbook, etc. what about photography do you most enjoy?

Paige : My favorite thing about photo-ing people is that I get to document their lives RIGHT NOW – a time that will never be the same again.  From engaged couples, to a bride and groom on their wedding day, to brand new parents – I realize that the photos I take will be someone’s favorite picture of their parents or grandparents someday.

Jonathan : Whats an aspect of photography you are always striving to improve?

Paige : I’m constantly striving to give my clients the best “whole experience” that I can possibly deliver .  I try really hard to facilitate a genuine relationship with the bride and groom so that they can trust me to do my job.  From Skyping with a couple before their engagement session to sending them their finished wedding album, I try to make the whole experience a fabulous one.
Jonathan : I know this is a tough question to answer from experience, but I have to ask it anyway… Why choose PLO Photo?
Wedding Photographer DallasPaige : I love what I do.  For me photography is my paint.  I love taking photos that I feel will forever hold that moment still in a world that is constantly changing.  I think still photography is one of the only things that does that, and its the reason it still holds strong in the “video” generation that we live in.  Every picture allows a person to make their own assumption as to what had happened just before or after it was taken; and the story behind it is left up to the person looking at it. Recognizing that makes a huge difference in a photographers work, and I personally feel that it shows in mine. Also I only take on a few weddings a month to ensure my clients get the best experience possible.
Jonathan : Paige, thank you so much for taking this quick phone call!

Paige : It was great talking with you!

Destination Weddings: The Caribbean

Destination Weddings are something special.  Taking your whole family and friends to a remote, intimate location where you can share endless memories is a rush to say the least.  Of course some people won’t be able to attend, even more of a reason why you need to make sure you have a dependable professional videographer on board to document the whole thing.  It’s Brad here with more wonderful wedding venues for you and your fiancee to get hitched. This is the first of my new series on amazing destination wedding venues and locations.  Having a Fall or Winter wedding is really cool but if you’re not one who enjoys cold weather, snow or dead trees, then you might want to have a wedding a little closer to the equator, maybe on a beach, right next to the ocean even. Why not the Caribbean? Right off the coast of Antigua there is an island privately owned by the Jolly Bay Resort surrounded by three beach fronts, lush vegetation and haven-like seclusion. Its a beautiful wedding venue located on a 300-acre island. You can either have the wedding on one of the three beach fronts or in the comfort of the resort that you can rent out completely for your friends and family. The coolest wedding venue in the Caribbean, obviously located in the Bahamas, is probably the One And Only Ocean Club: Paradise Island. It is legendary in its reputation for entertaining the world’s elite for more than 45 years. The seaside resort’s Versailles inspired terrace garden is a unique ceremony location that accommodates up to 120 guests. Each and every wedding receives creative, individual attention, ensuring memories that will last a lifetime. No matter where you go in The Caribbean you will most likely be satisfied with your results, it is a beautiful place and suits the beautiful moment you are most likely planning for.

Austin Wedding Venues – La Villa Vista

La Villa Vista is a 3-story getaway next to The Oasis overlooking Lake Travis.  That being said, one can only imagine what the views are like.  I remember my first time going there and seeing the sunset, it literally made my jaw drop.  It’ll give you butterflies in your stomach because it’s that beautiful.  But enough about the views, if you’re looking for a wedding venue or just a romantic getaway then look no further, La Villa Vista has what you want.

It hosts 4 suites: Tuscany, Serengeti, Himalaya, and Sienna.  Tuscany is more commonly known as their Honeymoon Suite.  European-styled and complete with a limestone fireplace and jacuzzi hot tub for two, a honeymoon here is nothing short of romantic. The Serengeti suite is just as elegant with antiques, Persian rugs, and a stained glass window.  The Sienna is better known as The Penthouse.  Located on the top floor of La Villa Vista, this 400 sq ft penthouse allows guests to see both the sunrise on a private east side balcony as well as the sunset on a west side terrace.  No need to bring up how gorgeous the view is again, but it’s worth another mention.  Lastly, atop of La Villa Vista is The Himalaya Suite, which is sure to offer a quiet, cozy, peaceful night lakeside.  Regardless of which suite you choose, all of them are a great choice for a romantic stay with your significant other.  Although you can’t go wrong getting them all at once either.

Peyronet offers services for different occasions such as weddings, family photos, senior photos, corporate events, and more, all for a reasonably low price.  While looking through her photographs on her blog site, I noticed what had seemed like 5 minutes was actually 45!  All of her pictures are so unique and each set she does totally stands out from the next.  Based in the Dallas area, Peyronet Photography is available worldwide.  We have worked with her on more than one occasion and we highly recommend her to capture your wedding moments.  For more information about Peyronet Photography or if you just want to look at some great pictures, visit her blog at http://peyronetphotography.com/blog

2010 Austin Wedding Trends (2 of 10)

destination wedding videographerAnother big trend we are seeing from our brides is Austin being a big location for destination weddings. We have booked several clients from out of town, and even out of the country, in the last few months that are having their wedding here in Austin as a destination for their guests. Brides from New York, Seattle, Los Angeles, London, and even as far away as Africa have contacted us about wedding videography for their Austin destination wedding. One of the big appeals to Austin is obviously the weather. While it can get a little warm during the summer, the weather is almost always acceptable for outdoor weddings. Another great thing about Austin as a destination wedding location is that it is unique. There is a certain “feel” to Austin that just cant be found anywhere else in the world. If you have ever watched the sunset at the top of a hill overlooking Lake Travis or been out for a night out on 6th street, you know what I mean. Austin also has several wonderful venues to choose from for your wedding. No matter what your tastes and style are, you can find a place to fit your needs (and your budget!) From lakefront venues like Vintage Villas, Villa Antonia, and Nature’s Point to downtown locations like The Driskill, or even Hill Country style wedding venues like Old Glory Ranch and Red Corral Ranch, there is a wide selection of affordable options.

Destinations by The Wedding Theater

destination wedding videographyThe last few months have been a whirl wind of crazy amazing. We got settled into the new office just in time for me not to lose my mind, started booking left and right, and now we have a print ad coming out in theknot, and a radio ad on 96.7 KISS FM here in Austin and the Central TX area. I’ve never heard a radio ad for a Wedding Video company, so we are hoping to make waves and book the rest of the year pretty solid.
In other news, I’ve been on some excursions down in the Riviera Maya area of Mexico. While I was there, I found that I absolutely love filming destination wedding films. Now these wedding videos don’t have to be on a beach, but there’s something oddly exciting about couples who make the decision to forgo the traditional comfort of having their wedding day surrounded by hundreds of people to have only family and their closest friends in some of the most intimate settings. Destination wedding videography packages start at $3999 with all travel expenses included.
