Austin Wedding Venues – Vista West Ranch

Here in good ole’ Texas, some of the prettiest, most scenic wedding venues are located in the Hill Country.  We’ve featured some of these venues in our previous blogs, such as Red Corral Ranch and Old Glory Ranch.  Well today I’m going to add another, Vista West Ranch.  Located just west of Austin in Dripping Springs, TX, Vista West Ranch provides a vintage atmosphere with weathered-wood, aged tin, and stained concrete floors.  Combined with the scenic Hill Country view and a nice sunset, Vista West is an ideal place for a Texas-style wedding.

Capable of hosting both indoor and outdoor ceremonies, Vista West can accommodate up to 350 people inside their 5520 sq. ft. inclosed barn style building that’s specially made for hosting events.  Vista West even has it’s own preferred vendor list and occasionally hosts an Open House for clients to meet their vendors in a comfortable, casual environment.  If you’re planning on staying overnight, Vista West has newly built amenities such as a honeymoon cottage for two and a bunkhouse that sleeps up to 14!  Not to mention, they also just built an outdoor waterfall that looks really really beautiful in addition to their Biergarten, making Vista West a truly unique Hill Country venue.

Peyronet offers services for different occasions such as weddings, family photos, senior photos, corporate events, and more, all for a reasonably low price.  While looking through her photographs on her blog site, I noticed what had seemed like 5 minutes was actually 45!  All of her pictures are so unique and each set she does totally stands out from the next.  Based in the Dallas area, Peyronet Photography is available worldwide.  We have worked with her on more than one occasion and we highly recommend her to capture your wedding moments.  For more information about Peyronet Photography or if you just want to look at some great pictures, visit her blog at http://peyronetphotography.com/blog

Austin Wedding Venues – Old Glory Ranch

Old Glory Ranch Wimberley TXIf you are looking for a Hill Country wedding venue, we would suggest you take a look at Old Glory Ranch. Located just outside of Austin in Wimberley, TX. Old Glory Ranch is over 2000 acres and has 2 miles of Blanco River frontage. Old Glory is capable of hosting both indoor and outdoor ceremonies, and is a full-service venue that offers just about everything from a wedding coordinator to floral designers on-site. We get a lot of inquiries from brides that want to have their wedding outdoors in a hill county setting, and I cannot imagine a better place in Texas to get married than right next to the Blanco river! If an outdoor wedding is not your style, then you can have it in Chapel Hall, which is Old Glory’s 4,000 square foot wedding chapel. Chapel Hall can handle about 350 people comfortably with the max being around 450 people. Last year we were hired to do the videography for Lindsey & Jody’s wedding at Old Glory and it has turned out to be one of the best wedding films we have ever done. The venue really is one of the most important parts of the day and Old Glory provides one of the nicest and prettiest places in the Hill Country to get married.

2010 Austin Wedding Trends (2 of 10)

destination wedding videographerAnother big trend we are seeing from our brides is Austin being a big location for destination weddings. We have booked several clients from out of town, and even out of the country, in the last few months that are having their wedding here in Austin as a destination for their guests. Brides from New York, Seattle, Los Angeles, London, and even as far away as Africa have contacted us about wedding videography for their Austin destination wedding. One of the big appeals to Austin is obviously the weather. While it can get a little warm during the summer, the weather is almost always acceptable for outdoor weddings. Another great thing about Austin as a destination wedding location is that it is unique. There is a certain “feel” to Austin that just cant be found anywhere else in the world. If you have ever watched the sunset at the top of a hill overlooking Lake Travis or been out for a night out on 6th street, you know what I mean. Austin also has several wonderful venues to choose from for your wedding. No matter what your tastes and style are, you can find a place to fit your needs (and your budget!) From lakefront venues like Vintage Villas, Villa Antonia, and Nature’s Point to downtown locations like The Driskill, or even Hill Country style wedding venues like Old Glory Ranch and Red Corral Ranch, there is a wide selection of affordable options.

Rebekah+Jason @ Red Corral Ranch

Rebekah and Jason had a very intimate wedding at the Red Corral Ranch in Wimberly, Texas. Within the first minute of conversation on the phone about the video, I knew Rebekah was going to be an amazing client to work with. She was very laid back, knew exactly what she was looking for, and asked what she needed to do to book her date. A wedding videographers’ dream come true. Their wedding followed suit with a laid back and relaxed crowd who were there to support and have a good time.
We have filmed out at Red Corral Ranch a few times, and it is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to work. The staff is first class, very accommodating to everyone, and the environment just makes everything feel so intimate and comfortable. We look forward to working with the Red Corral Ranch as often as possible.
We have a few more weddings in the coming months out at Red Corral Ranch, I look forward to filming them and coming up with different ways to show what amazing location it is.
