[SPOTLIGHT] Texas Wedding Photographer Paige Ogilvie
One of the most important aspects of wedding videography, is the cohesion between a photographer and a cinematography team. Knowing a photographer personally makes things just that much easier. I met Paige in the second grade I believe, and have known her to be a wonderful person ever since. Paige Ogilvie has been doing photography sinse high school, and I was extremely excited when I found out she was venturing into weddings! We

had a chance to have a phone interview with the talented Dallas based photographer to ask a few key questions about her work and what to expect when hiring her to photograph your wedding day. Of course this is a shortened version of the A.D.D. reunion that we had at the time of the call!
Jonathan : So Paige, I know you have had a camera in your hands for almost as long as I can remember, but when did you first pick up a camera, what kind was it?
Paige : My parents gave me a 35mm Canon (film!) camera for my birthday when I turned 15. I developed and printed most of my own pictures in the darkroom at my high school. I actually shot my very first wedding with it when I was only 17.
Jonathan : I know you were always snapping pictures in High School, working for the yearbook, etc. what about photography do you most enjoy?
Jonathan : Whats an aspect of photography you are always striving to improve?
Paige : I love what I do. For me photography is my paint. I love taking photos that I feel will forever hold that moment still in a world that is constantly changing. I think still photography is one of the only things that does that, and its the reason it still holds strong in the “video” generation that we live in. Every picture allows a person to make their own assumption as to what had happened just before or after it was taken; and the story behind it is left up to the person looking at it. Recognizing that makes a huge difference in a photographers work, and I personally feel that it shows in mine. Also I only take on a few weddings a month to ensure my clients get the best experience possible.Dallas Wedding Photographer: Sil Azevedo

We had the pleasure this weekend of shooting a wedding video with one of Dallas’ finest wedding photographers, Sil Azevedo. Sil and his son were shooting Monica & Andy Nguyen’s wedding with us at St Ritas Church with the reception at The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Addison. One of the first things we noticed about Sil and his son was the fact that they actually took their time to set up and frame the shot. A lot of the photographers we work get to a set-up and take 50 pictures of the same thing, hoping one of them is use-able. Sil and his son were relying on their talent and eye, rather than the equipment for a change! If you are looking for a photographer in the Dallas area, or anywhere else for that matter, give Sil a call!
[VIDEO] PicFlips = Wedding Reception Hit!
The Wedding Theater isn’t just about wedding video and film, we are about what is new, fun, and cutting edge with weddings! Over the weekend while filming Carrie and David’s fantastic T Bar M Resort Wedding, we ran into a couple of gals with PicFlips (iloveflipbooks.com). PicFlips are something new to us, but we loved them right from the beginning. First of all, the two girls working there were very friendly and helpful explaining what the product is, and second, it was so much fun! Basically this is a short, instantly gratifying 6-7 second animation of you and your friends. Step in front of the screen and goof around like you would in a photobooth, but come out and just over a minute later you will have your very own keepsake from the wedding – an old school animated movie! They had tons of signs and costume type fun adds to make each flip book unique. We liked FlipPic so much, we threw together our own little commercial for this blog so can see just how fun they are and we are going to use Carrie and Davids flip book from their wedding night in their trailer coming soon!
This was our flipbook from the night.

Peyronet Photography
So as I’ve said before, here at The Wedding Theater, we frequently cross paths with different vendors, each with their own talent and trade. Today I’d like to talk a little about Peyronet Photography. Started by Michelle Peyronet Jones, Peyronet Photography offers more than just photographs. It offers the peace of mind knowing that your pictures will come out great, no doubt! Michelle is really skilled at what she does and truly knows how to capture the moment with her camera; not to mention, her upbeat attitude which helps make clients feel more comfortable while she’s taking their pictures. When you do what you love, there’s no doubt that you’ll have fun on the job.

Peyronet offers services for different occasions such as weddings, family photos, senior photos, corporate events, and more, all for a reasonably low price. While looking through her photographs on her blog site, I noticed what had seemed like 5 minutes was actually 45! All of her pictures are so unique and each set she does totally stands out from the next. Based in the Dallas area, Peyronet Photography is available worldwide. We have worked with her on more than one occasion and we highly recommend her to capture your wedding moments. For more information about Peyronet Photography or if you just want to look at some great pictures, visit her blog at http://peyronetphotography.com/blog
Austin's Finest Wedding Vendors!
Getting married in the Austin area? Well, you have a wide selection of vendors to choose from when planning your wedding. From photographers, caterers, flowers, dresses, planners, and of course, videographers, Austin has some of the finest wedding vendors in the country! Interviewing and hiring all the different types of vendors needed to put on your dream wedding can be a daunting task, but a fun one none-the-less. Having worked with several of the top wedding vendors in the Austin area, here are some of our recommendations.
For photography, which is a lot of times one of the first things on a newly engaged couples mind, Forever photography studio based in Austin is one the best around. They have a really unique blend of an artistic, yet natural style that is second to none. While our other favorite photographer is not an Austin resident, if you are having a Dallas wedding you should take a look at Paige Ogilvie’s website, www.plophotography.squarespace.com. She is one of the hot up-and-comers in the DFW area.
For venues, we have already profiled several in previous articles. A lot of different factors are involved in choosing the venue. How large is your wedding, do you want the wedding and reception at one location, is it an outdoor or indoor wedding? Depending on your preferences and needs, Villa Antonia, Vintage Villas, Red Corral Ranch, Old Glory Ranch, and The Driskill are some of our favorite Austin wedding venues. All of them are great and it would be hard to make a bad choice from that list.
If you are looking to hire someone to gather up the wealth of information and help you make all these decisions, then you should look into hiring a wedding planner. One of our favorites is Cortney Zieky of BZ events. She is the most detailed and organized planner we have worked with and she will make sure that your big day is stress-free!
After the wedding, you are probably going to want to relax for a week or two at some private island far, far away from the chaos that was the planning of the wedding. For that you should call Randy Otts of 2 Getaway Travel, http://www.2getawaytravel.com Randy is one of the best in the business and will help you find your perfect honeymoon spot and save you a few bucks in the process!
Photographer Aubrey Newnham
It can be overwhelming to plan a wedding and when a bride begins the process it’s so important to start organized. I’m a wedding photographer now, but when I was a bride I knew nothing about planning a wedding event. As a photographer, there are a few tips I’d point out to get the best outcome of the big event and the most fabulous photographs.
I, also, highly recommend the bride and groom see each other before the ceremony for a private moment followed by one-on-one photo time. This is often referred to as, “the first look.” Once the ceremony is underway, celebrating often takes it’s own course, which cuts into photography time. If a bride and groom are worried about seeing each other pre-ceremony because it’s against tradition they should know many brides say they still felt so special with their father walking them down the aisle after seeing each other first. Most of the posed and formal portraits were out of the way and the photographer was able to photograph in a more journalistic style from the ceremony through the end of the event. I’ve, personally, had nothing but good responses from brides on their wedding day as a result of taking the first look.
Finding the perfect photographer can be challenging. After getting referrals from wedding coordinators and, often, friends, I’d encourage
couples to go to bridal shows and meet photographers and review their portfolios. Most people can get a good feel for how the photographer interacts with clients and their style of photography at such an event. However, if a couple is having a difficult time choosing a photographer it may be a good idea to schedule an engagement session with their first choice before the photographer is officially hired. If the outcome is desirable, the couple can rest assured they’ve made a good choice.
