[VIDEO] Caroline+Jason's Vintage Villas Wedding

wedding videographer austin lake travisVintage Villas on Lake Travis continues to be our most popular destination for weddings!  The beautiful views that Vintage Villas brings of the west setting sun are breathtaking and it’s easy to see it’s attractiveness.  More importantly, the staff that works out at VV are the most accommodating and friendly we have worked with.  Caroline and Jason’s wedding happened on a very rare day when Austin decided to get just a few drops of rain in the middle of very long drought.  I thought this was very unique and special, and I think they felt that way as well.

Vintage Villas Wedding Film Melissa and Vishal had a very intimate wedding celebration at Vintage Villas with close friends and family in attendance.  As you can see in the video below, the decor was perfect, the weather was perfect, and the location was perfect.  We thoroughly enjoyed working with Melissa and Vishal on different aspects of this project such as music selections.  They also upgraded to the new cinematic extended trailer which runs longer than a normal wedding trailer giving a bit more time for each aspect of the day.  Enjoy.

Austin's Finest Wedding Vendors!

Austin Wedding Vendors

Getting married in the Austin area? Well, you have a wide selection of vendors to choose from when planning your wedding. From photographers, caterers, flowers, dresses, planners, and of course, videographers, Austin has some of the finest wedding vendors in the country! Interviewing and hiring all the different types of vendors needed to put on your dream wedding can be a daunting task, but a fun one none-the-less. Having worked with several of the top wedding vendors in the Austin area, here are some of our recommendations.

For photography, which is a lot of times one of the first things on a newly engaged couples mind, Forever photography studio based in Austin is one the best around. They have a really unique blend of an artistic, yet natural style that is second to none. While our other favorite photographer is not an Austin resident, if you are having a Dallas wedding you should take a look at Paige Ogilvie’s website, www.plophotography.squarespace.com. She is one of the hot up-and-comers in the DFW area.

For venues, we have already profiled several in previous articles. A lot of different factors are involved in choosing the venue. How large is your wedding, do you want the wedding and reception at one location, is it an outdoor or indoor wedding? Depending on your preferences and needs, Villa Antonia, Vintage Villas, Red Corral Ranch, Old Glory Ranch, and The Driskill are some of our favorite Austin wedding venues. All of them are great and it would be hard to make a bad choice from that list.

If you are looking to hire someone to gather up the wealth of information and help you make all these decisions, then you should look into hiring a wedding planner. One of our favorites is Cortney Zieky of BZ events. She is the most detailed and organized planner we have worked with and she will make sure that your big day is stress-free!

After the wedding, you are probably going to want to relax for a week or two at some private island far, far away from the chaos that was the planning of the wedding. For that you should call Randy Otts of 2 Getaway Travel, http://www.2getawaytravel.com Randy is one of the best in the business and will help you find your perfect honeymoon spot and save you a few bucks in the process!

Austin Wedding Venues – Vintage Villas

This past Memorial day Vishal and Melissa hired The Wedding Theater as videographers for their wedding at Vintage Villas.

Gazebo overlooking Lake Travis

Gazebo overlooking Lake Travis

As a production assistant, my job entailed lugging around big equipment and maneuvering deftly between the wedding guests, but I must say, the experience I had was excellent.  The staff was very friendly, even to us videographers, and I have never had a wedding dinner as tasty as that – and I wasn’t even a guest this time!

One thing I have to comment on is the scenery.  There is no better place to watch the sunset than on a hillside overlooking Lake Travis. Maybe I’m just a good ol’ fashioned Texas boy, but I absolutely loved the trees, the wildlife, the clouds, the trees, the hills, the lake, and don’t forget the TREES.  The picture to the right, while nice, doesn’t do it any justice.  The bride we saw that day looked completely relaxed the whole day, and honestly, I don’t think anyone can be stressed in that atmosphere.

For weddings large or small, Vintage Villas has a distinctive Texas feel without the stereotypical Cowboy motif.  It’s about nature.  Texas Hill Country.  The wonderful central Texas climate provides almost a year round wedding season.  Just half an hour from downtown Austin, Vintage Villas is one of the most beautiful places to have your wedding.

2010 Austin Wedding Trends (2 of 10)

destination wedding videographerAnother big trend we are seeing from our brides is Austin being a big location for destination weddings. We have booked several clients from out of town, and even out of the country, in the last few months that are having their wedding here in Austin as a destination for their guests. Brides from New York, Seattle, Los Angeles, London, and even as far away as Africa have contacted us about wedding videography for their Austin destination wedding. One of the big appeals to Austin is obviously the weather. While it can get a little warm during the summer, the weather is almost always acceptable for outdoor weddings. Another great thing about Austin as a destination wedding location is that it is unique. There is a certain “feel” to Austin that just cant be found anywhere else in the world. If you have ever watched the sunset at the top of a hill overlooking Lake Travis or been out for a night out on 6th street, you know what I mean. Austin also has several wonderful venues to choose from for your wedding. No matter what your tastes and style are, you can find a place to fit your needs (and your budget!) From lakefront venues like Vintage Villas, Villa Antonia, and Nature’s Point to downtown locations like The Driskill, or even Hill Country style wedding venues like Old Glory Ranch and Red Corral Ranch, there is a wide selection of affordable options.

Amy+John @ Vintage Villas

Vintage Villas is nested on the banks of Lake Travis over looking a magnificent view of the sunset. Amy and John choose a lawn ceremony which is held on the greenest of grass with the alter covered in greenery, and the sunset peaks through just as the vows were said. Following a tear filled ceremony, the group went on to enjoy an amazing meal, and a night of dancing and entertainment. The Wedding Theater was on board to film the video for the evening. Enjoy this cinematic trailer! We can’t wait to film at this magnificent location in the near future.
